Deploy or Die is a card game designed specifically for web developers. In this game, players take on the roles of web application developers with the goal of getting their application into production. The primary objective is to be the first to successfully deploy the entire application or to withstand attacks from opponents and remain the last player standing.

The game does not cater to any specific programming language, aiming to be accessible to all web developers and even those without programming experience with some training.

Deploy or Die features cards divided into different categories representing parts of a web application: Frontend, Backend, and Database. Players lay these cards in front of them, which may expose them to attacks from other players who can attempt to crash or steal these application components.

The offensive cards in the game include names like Bug, Security Bug, or DDOS, used to harm opponents' progress. Conversely, defensive cards such as Hot Fix, Revert, Not a Bug, or Works on My Machine help protect players from attacks.

An intriguing aspect of the game is the "Error 500" card. Drawing this card forces the player to admit it to their opponents, and they must deal with its consequences. Initially, the Debugger card or Monitoring cards shuffled into the deck can help manage this card. However, lacking these protective cards, an Error 500 can crash a deployed application card.

If a player has no Deploy cards laid out, the game ends for them. Deploy or Die also allows for game customization through optional rules or "mods" that can modify the basic gameplay, such as setting a limit on the number of cards held in hand or allowing unlimited deployment of Deploy cards in a single turn.
